Vendetta Teaser

"Aedan always knew when something was wrong. Adele sat at the kitchen island, staring at her hands. Ashe had never seen her so defeated. "What is it?" Aedan sighed as he took a seat beside Adele.
"This." Adele pulled the letter from the drawer and handed it to Aedan. Aedan hesitated, as if he could hold off the news and keep his life as it was for a few moments longer. Finally, his fingers grasped the envelope. Ashe watched as the weight of it settled onto his father’s shoulders. Slitting the envelope open with a slightly extended claw, Aedan pulled the folded paper out and opened it."

In an effort to lay claim to Ashe, the vampires roll the dice. As a result, Ashe's life spins out of control—in ways even he couldn't imagine. Friends betray him. Those closest to him pull away. What he believes to be true turns out to be only a partial truth.
The war between Light and Dark Elemaiya ramps up in the midst of these painful revelations, and it is up to Ashe to do something about it. If he doesn't, everything could be destroyed.

Happy Sunday, everyone!

  3. Oh no. "Friends betray him. Those closest to him pull away. What he believes to be true turns out to be only a partial truth." That sounds as though I'm going to be hurting for Ashe! Regardless, I am still impatiently waiting for the release!

  5. No, no, no!!! Ashe has been through enough. Well, I have to trust the author (that would be you) to keep me on pins and needles.

    Can't wait as usual.

  6. Ashe is gonna be kickin' somebody's tail. And I suspect Aedan is gonna be mildly hacked as well. This will be fun... :)

  7. Those bloody vampires need to keep their mitts off of him. I'm mad at Wlodek just thinking about it.

  8. If Ashe is immune to compulsion they will find it almost impossible to turn an instant mister. He could gather up whomever is sent after him in his mist and hand out a leave me alone or next time the council goes sunbathing warning. LOL

They already worried Lissa could pull that with the memory thing currently going on Ashe could have to prove vampires are not apex predators. I think this could lead to Wlodek stepping down as head of the council ... he needs a good ego deflation :-).

    1. Hi, Larry!
The Council hasn't discovered Ashe is immune to compulsion yet. Trust me, Wlodek may get his "set down" in Destroyer--from an unexpected source :)
      Happy Tuesday!

  10. I think Wlodek is getting a bad rap. One of the compelling things for me about both series is the characters' consistency of motivation, which in turn leads to a lot of the miscommunication we've read (Lissa assuming she'd be killed if she let on she was resistant to compulsion, for example). Wlodek's always been on the lookout for special abilities--I'd be disappointed if he *didn't* go after Ashe once he suspects.

    1. Agreed :) Wlodek will have to admit (eventually) that his tactics aren't often the best way to achieve something. We'll see how that plays out :)

  11. I don't think we are giving Wlodek a bad rap, he doing that very well without our help :-).

... rereads rest of post then cuts off rant ... lol

He'd forgotten the first rule of attempted homicide--never bring a gun to a vampire fight.

  13. Ashe doesn't have to put them in his mist and set the vampire in the sun to kill 'em. All Ashe has to do is use that elemental gift of his and set them on fire.

  15. I love Ashe's parents, too. May we have some more of them? I'd like to see Aeden in a fight!

    1. I second that motion! :)

Aedan has always been extremely protective of his family and the community, and the issue of longevity as it relates to his wife certainly has some drama built in. Would Aedan also be subject to "recall" by the Vampire Council to assist Enforcers in North America?

Lots of room for fun stories with this character set!
