  1. Read it, great read! Thanks.

Although I have to say that's a pretty big pit Ashe has to dig out of ...

    1. Thank you! I have a big job ahead of me, writing the rest of Destroyer. Right now, it's about 1/4 done and so many things have to happen before the end.
Hope your day is a happy one--

    2. I don't think the one you should be feelin sorry for is Ashe in this last book. I Truly think that the one to feel sorry for is Adele. I mean look at her, she has a huge of her life ripped out of her, and it is only getting worse as time goes on.

And I also really loved the book. Rest up Connie!

    3. Thanks, Taylor :) I'm working on getting the kinks out of Ashe's life (and Adele's)
      Happy weekend!

  4. Wow, Connie, that was great. I was hesitant to read Vendetta I thought it would be too sad. It was but it was also completely captivating. I look forward to reading what happens next. Thank you for such great reading material. I love both Ashe and Lissa stories so much.

  5. Okay, anyone up for some book discussion? I'll start the ball rolling :-).

    1) Adele - I realize she has gotten a raw deal, but it can be traced back to and cured by one Vampire Aedan ... probably followed by some serious groveling / boot-licking / self-abasement then being forbidden to use compulsion on his wife ever again (although I might be tempted to add forbidden to use compulsion on any of Ashes friends too).

    2) Charles - what can I say ... Damn it's nice to see an Earth Vampire do something selfless for Ashe ... just goes to prove Lissa had a better friend at the time than she knew.

    3) Wlodek - As we know he becomes a member of the Saa Thalarr and shows a more human side but at this point I would say he is pushing past the point of "good of the race" greed into the realm of down right evil.

Anyone in power that truly believes themselves to above the law have proven themselves to have lost the moral authority to wield that power. - me

  6. Aedan has a lot of the same problems as Wlodek ... each seems to think he knows best. Adele is like a 50's housewife - whatever the man of the house says is the way things go. I thought she should have bucked Aedan's decrees a long time ago, but she always went along with his heavy-handed approach. I do think she got a raw deal with this latest gaffe of Aedan's, but truly - she doesn't know what she's "forgotten", so it's not all that bad for her - but crushing for Ashe. I just want to go in there and SHAKE them all!

    1. Nice points although I am inclined to disagree on Aedan being as bad as Wlodek. Aedan has realized that he made a mistake that needs to be corrected, what could put him in the same boat as Wlodek is if he decides to do nothing.

Wlodek, on the other hand, to date seems to believe that anything he decides to do "for the good of the race" has no consequences on others that matter or (if I am feeling uncharitable) have no consequences period.

As for Adele being a 50's housewife, that thought did not occur to me but I have to admit it fits :-). Adele has shown a couple points of disagreement with Aedan, once when he grounded Ashe right before his birthday (Bumble) then again when he tried to leave her behind when he was recalled to Europe (Vendetta). Could be due to some backstory we have not seen yet or it could be Connie wants her that way (not everyone in the story can be a hero).

Connie has hinted at some upcoming retribution so maybe they will get shaken for you ;-).
