Blood War Release

It's available on Amazon Now! I haven't checked B&N yet, but I'll do that just as soon as I'm done here. Yesterday was a long day and I waited until 2am to go to bed, hoping the book would show up in the U.S. It was available in the U.K. by that time, but I just couldn't keep my eyes open--Sorry, everyone. Anyway, happy Monday and happy reading to you all!

  6. Ok I have read like a maniac getting totally caught up in your book and have just finished it. It was great. I loved the green fae as a people. :p The ending has left me craving the next one so I can't wait. Makes me sound like I am greedy for more and I guess I am a little bit but your stories are wonderful.

And I am curious about if anything more is happening on the werewolf world? You mention the planet Kifirin a little but will Lissa go back?

    1. Even if it isn't mentioned, Harifa Edus is the preferred place for the werewolves of the Saa Thalarr to hunt. I've thought (now and then) about picking a charater to write about there, but so far it's only in the idea stage :)

  8. I just noticed that there appears to be a Book 10 in the Blood Destiny series, which I thought would end at Book 9. Was that a recent addition or did I just miss it? In some ways, I'm excited but, at the same time, I want to get some closure for Lissa since she keeps getting one headache after another to have to deal with - which makes for some wonderful high speed adventures!

Also, I had a question since Blood Queen about Lissa's consorts. Once declared / accepted as Lissa's consorts, does that mean that they are essentially exclusive to Lissa (aka, not allowed to date/sleep/etc with anyone else)? I wasn't quite sure how that worked.

    1. Lissa will get some closure in Blood Redemption, I promise :) Book 10, which I still haven't titled, deals mostly with other characters, although Lissa will certainly play a key role.

As to the exclusivity thing, I'll quote Lissa and say I won't be a hypocrite. She won't stop them if they find other mates they care about. After all, they're immortal or nearly so--a long time to spend with only one person. Erland already has three mates within the Saa Thaarr--Joey, Bearcat and Norton. Karzac has other mates, too--Devin and Grace. I just haven't put a lot about them in the books. If the males want an exclusive relationship, that's their choice. Since Lissa is a Queen and has a high-profile existence, it is wise to keep any other relationships discreet. You'll see, too, in Blood Redemption, what an arranged marriage to produce children does to one of her mates. (Spoiler alert!)

If you have other questions, just let me know--I'll answer what I can :)

  9. OMG.... I'm afraid to find out who is getting the arranged marriage.... I hope this doesn't hurt Lissa to much... But at the same time I'm dying to know...

  10. I was just browsing for books one day and stumbled across Blood wager. Thank god I did because this series is one of my favourites. I finished the new book in one day, just could not put it down. Poor Lissa just keeps getting knocked down.I will be glad when something finally goes her way. I am now hanging for the next book. Thank you so much for a wonderful adventure it will be sad to say goodbye when the Book 10 finishes.

    2. Check Bumble and Shadowed out as well. They are YA, but they exist in the same universe and characters cross over. Awesome! :)

  11. So, Connie, apparently you are determined to keep me from sleeping again. Read Blood War yesterday, went back and read key parts of books 4 - 7 last night, and read Blood War again today. It is, in my opinion, that incredibly good.

I'm curious - do you have a wiki? And do you want one?

I adored Rigo and Thuston - not sure if that's just because we see so much of them, or because they are quite simply there for her, always and at any time. I think that's one of the things Lissa needs most, and Garde, Roff, Erland, Rigo and Thurston all do such an amazing job at that.

Thank you, thank you, thank you for this series!

    1. I don't have a wiki--I was just wondering the other day how to accomplish that. Of course I want one :)

You're welcome, by the way. Once I started writing Lissa's story, it's as if the floodgate opened and it all came pouring out. I wrote these books, back to back to back. I couldn't stop myself. I'm just glad that you and a few other people seem to enjoy her story too. That, in itself, has made it all worthwhile.

    2. Depending on how tech savvy you are/want to be, you can find a comparison of wiki farms (hosting sites) here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Comparison_of_wiki_farms

Presumably you want free, no ads, and at minimum Creative Commons licensing. Type of syntaxing available and WYSIWYG editing is your call.

If you want someone to develop this for you, I'm quite serious in my offer. I'm an out of work web designer who is doing various sites gratis to pad my portfolio back up.

I'm so very glad the floodgates opened. You have created a remarkable world.

  12. Oh my goodness!! I don't want to yell out spoilers for your new book....but that Toff thing....It really irritated me. Mostly because that girl got to keep him without any punishment. PLEASE tell me she gets what she deserves. I can not stand selfish self-centered people like that. Ugh!

All that being said - Excellent book! Can't wait until the next one!

You won't see payback for Redbird's actions in Blood Redemption, but you might see it in Blood Reunion (#10)
      Happy weekend!

    2. I love the way Lissa is, but sometimes I wish she would make others pay for their actions. I really hope things turn out AMAZING for her at the end of the next book. And I hope she is truly happy. She deserves that.

    3. Thanks Ariel!
I'll certainly work on that in Blood redemption :)

  13. OMG! Poor Lissa is always getting thrown under the bus by the people that should be pulling her out of the way. And what the heck is wrong with Griffin? I think he is long overdue for a spanking and now that his father is in the picture just maybe Wylend can give it to him! It was nice to see Merrill doing something positive on her behalf for a change and it definitely won him some brownie points where I'm concerned. I think that Griffin is beyond being able to earn any brownie points though. It's too late and he has interfered and manipulated too many people's lives to be just forgiven. Belen should punish him the same way he did Thorsten for all his meddling!

That little spoiled brat needs to get whats coming to her too. What she did was beyond messed up!

Another great book! I'm at a place where I can't wait for the next one while at the same time I'm sad that the next one is the last one being told with Lissa as the primary focus. (Or is that wrong? Will thee be more books after the 10th one that come back to her?) I remeber you saying that she would be in the High Demon Series but that the next Blood Destiny book is being told from someone else perspective right? If so could you tell us who that is?

Thanks again for the great reads! You rock!

Blood Reunion (#10) is told in 3rd person, so you'll see differing points of view. More on that later :)

  14. 1) Love the books, thank you for you hard work and tremendous effort.
    2) I think Lissa deserves warm brownies and hot chocolate from all her mates after taking all that abuse from everyone.
    3) Do we get to find out who keeps on helping Lissa?

    Thanks,
    Larry

  15. Just wanted to stop by and say I read the whole book in one night. I really enjoyed it thank you for writing. I like the new vampires very interesting I'm looking forward to the next book because there's so much going on. (no pressure though) This is totally random but I'm from Morro Bay and since I just found your blog after I read the series, I wanted to tell you I got a total kick out of reading about the flying dinosaur monster's eating the tourists and the cattle. I could picture it perfectly. Thank you again for all your great books.

  17. I have read all of the Lissa books as well as Bumble and Shadowed and wait with bated breath for another in either series. I love the vague cross connections between the two series and the not so vague ones (Winkler). Lissa does indeed deserve a break but I think she is to some degree getting that right now. Love your writing and your style, out of my many favorite authors you are now near the top of the list :)

  18. Also, thanks for the scene separators. In earlier books, I always needed to refocus when I read the first sentence of a paragraph and realized the scene had changed.

  19. Hi Connie,

I hope you are well today.
I was just reading Blood War again and had a few observation/questions.

Is Lissa and Karzac drifting apart? I found it strange that she didn't know about kevis's naming ceremony. Wouldn't that have been something she wanted to go to.... She hasn't really spent any time with Kevis. Being her mates son I would think she would want to get to know him.

The Bright one. Speculating that he is a relative on Lissa's moms side of the family???? Great grandparent maybe. As far as I can remember Lissa nor Griffin have "looked" for that information.

I find it amazing that I find something I previously missed every time I read it.

I love all your books. Thanks for sharing them with us. I'm Really looking forward to the new High Demon series.

Things will be better for Lissa and Karzac in Blood Redemption. Regarding the Bright One, you'll find out eventually who that is :)
