  1. I don't want to say this , but i feel guilty for getting these books for 99 cents, all my other authors charge 2.99-3.99 for their new release's. Now don't get me wrong I am not looking to make you charge more, but I don't want to ... hmmm. maybe what i am trying to say is that your books are full of WIN and a tad undervalued for what you are charging, maybe you could set it to 99 cents the 1st week and 2.99-3.99 after or vice versa . Can't wait for Blood Sense!

  2. Thanks, Dare, for your wonderful comments and support! I did waffle on the price and I'm taking your comments to heart. Perhaps a price increase on the next one?
    Thanks again--Connie

  3. I love the fact that these books started out at such a reasonable price, because I think people are willing to take a chance on a new author for only 99¢. But at the same time, I think they're also willing to take a chance for $1.99 or $2.99! By today's standards, that's not a lot of money and people are more inclined to spend money on leisure reading (escapism) than on vacation!

I also think that once someone becomes a fan like me, they're more than willing to pay a little extra just to satisfy that craving for the next part of the story!

  4. Honestly I would'nt mind a price increase, I like to support good authors. Heck over at the baen website I pay $15 for advanced reader copies, not that I want you to charge $15. Your first couple of books were a steal at 99 cents. I say go for 3.99 you can always reduce it later if you have to. Keep up the excellent work, and thanks

  7. Really love your books. On pins and needles waiting for Blood Sense. I will definitely pay more than $0.99 cents to buy your next book. This is now my favorite vampire series and Lissa my favorite character. Was wondering if there is any way to get more of a preview of Blood Sense besides what is on the website. I have September 15th marked on my calender for the debut of Blood Sense and looking forward to it more than my own birthday.

  8. Maria, this is for you :)

"Saxom may be dead, but his children are alive and well."--Blood Passage

Saxom is dead. The vampires know this. Anthony Hancock, Director of the Joint NSA/Homeland Security Department knows it as well. Tony and the vampires are now on the hunt for Saxom's brood, but neither are aware of the other's efforts. Tony also possesses information the vampires don't--he knows that Xenides, Saxom's eldest vampire child, has allied with terrorists, both foreign and domestic. Tony neglects to provide valuable information to Wlodek when he requests Lissa's assistance.

While struggling to recover from a near-fatal bout with the sun, Lissa fails to understand why Wlodek willingly sends her away on assignment so quickly. With very little information at her disposal, Lissa is forced to face an enemy more deadly than anyone can imagine, and unravel a plot that could kill millions.

    Hope this helps--Connie

  9. Thanks Connie. That just wet my appetite even more for the third book. The days are going too slow, but I will be patient and re-read the first two again.

  10. I feel the same way about the price. $0.99 for the first book is always a good plan as it hooks readers. Loved the first book :)

A slow increase in price as a series progresses is what I've been seeing a lot of independent authors doing, ($0.99 to $1.99 to $2.99)

Just finished book 2 last night and had to figure out when the next one is coming out. Glad it is so soon.

  11. Thanks for such great feedback! Blood Sense will likely be priced at $1.99. I'm so glad you think enough of my work to pay more for it. Thanks again for the words of encouragement--I 'm giving Blood Passage one last run-through before the release. If all goes well, it'll be there in a few days!

  12. Connie, Will it be explained in the other books why Lissa is so different from other Vampires? Why she has powers no other Female Vampire ever had for example?

  13. Hi, Maria.
The short answer to your question is yes--things will be explained. If you don't have a complete answer by the beginning of book 5, then send a message or an email and I'll explain as well as I can without any spoilers. In the meantime, the schedule of tentative release dates is:
    Blood Sense--September 15, 2011
    Blood Domination--October 15, 2011
    Blood Royal--November 15, 2011
    Untitled book--December 2011

Other titles and series will be announced later for calendar year 2012.
If you have other questions, just let me know :)

  18. Hi Connie! I found your books three days ago, finished all three in three days and am anxiously awaiting Blood Domination!!! I Love the BD cover, very sexy... the only thing I wish was different is Lissa's habit of using "honey" all the time when she addresses people, especially Gavin. It seems so motherly which is NOT how I imagine her, I see her as scrappy, tough, beautiful, upfront, honest, even sexy, I DON'T see her as motherly. Everytime she says it, which she does a lot, it JARS me out of my reading groove and I have to concentrate to remove the sudden motherly vision I have of her. When she calls Gain "honey" it makes me cringe! Maybe I am the only one who feels this way! Regardless, I love your writing style and would pay much more for the next books ;-). I am glad your husbands kidneys are functioning better, my son was born with kidney damage, he is 17months old now and I adore him. Keep writing!

  19. Hello, Nathansmama.
    Thanks for checking in!
I'm sorry you find the "honey" comments distracting. I borrowed that from a waitress I knew a few years back who was in her forties and called everybody honey. For Lissa's character, it's reflex--she worked for a judge in the juvenile court system before getting attacked by Sergio Velenci, so I hope you'll forgive me (and her) for all that. And I hope you stick with me through Blood Domination, too, because Lissa calls somebody honey in it and he doesn't understand at all, so she has to explain it :)

Is your son doing all right? Does he require dialysis? That was such a frightening chapter in my and my husband's lives. I sincerely hope things are going well for you and your child.

Blood Domination will likely be priced at $1.99, with Blood Royal tentatively planned at $2.99 if things continue to go well. Thank you so much for posting, and have a wonderful weekend!

  20. Hi Connie! Sorry it took so long to get back!, I just finished BD and Loved it!!! I can't wait for BR though....;-) I totally wasn't expecting the turn of events but very much enjoyed it, I am sooooo interested to see how all this meshes in the end! U r very talented. Thankyou for asking about Nathan. He has permanent kidney damage but won't need dialysis until later in life. Our goal is to help him keep his remaining nephrons healthy. He has all kinda meds for it, but that is doable and he is still fed via a feeding tube but we hope to get rid of that eventually too :-) He is a delight!

  21. Hi, Nathansmama! Great to hear from you :)
I hope things go well for you and your son; I know the feeling regarding a feeding tube. We were so glad to have that thing removed, even though my husband only had it for six months.

Blood Royal is shaping up and I'm still planning to hit that November 15th release date. All my best to you and your son, and I hope your day is a happy one.
    Thanks for posting!
