Here's the first line in Blood War:
Winkler was having a second helping of ribs and grinning at me. "Do I have a bedroom at the palace, now?" he teased.
"Honey, I think you can have just about anything you want," I replied, smiling like an idiot at him.
The best surprise of Blood Rebellion!
ReplyDeleteThanks, Mary. It's one of my favorite parts in the series :)
DeleteAwwwwweeeee! You are such a tease!!!!! I loved that you brought Winkler back. Especially after the crap that Gabron pulled. He turned into such an a-hole. So what if he doesn't have all the power and pull of everything anymore. Quit pouting, put your big boy pants back on and get over it.
ReplyDeleteI loved Blood Rebellion a little bit more than the others throughout but when the ending came and Winkler showed up again it definitely shoved this book to the top of my favorites lists. Now if only we could get Roff and Gabron straightened out her love life would be squared away :)
It was a little sad for Lissa at first with Karzac's great news but I really liked the turn of events for Lissa's dad and her stepmom because of what Lissa unwittingly did for them.
So does this mean that somehow in the next two books Lissa will possibly find a way to have children of her own? And more importantly do we really have to wait until May for Blood War?
Hi, DaniM611 :)
DeleteI can't say anything on the kids front--it could involve spoilers :) I will say that eventually, Kevis (Karzac's son) will play a part in the High Demon series.
Sadly, Blood War needs a lot of TLC, so May is still the prospective date on it. I promise to work hard to get it out on time, though!
Happy Wednesday!
Connie
I have to agree.... Winkler could have just about anything from me.... He's one of my favorites... But then again i would take just about any of Lissa's mates.... lol.... Your killing me here.... I don't think i can wait.... I love the teasers but they're pure torture cause i have to wait.... You're evil lol.... it's total my fault thou.... Cause i can't stop reading them.... You sure know how to hook i girl
ReplyDeletethanks, casey993 :) I'll do my best to get the books out on time, if not a little early!

I do love that Winkler is back, though I was expecting it. What I didn't expect was the reincarnation of Don. That made me very happy for Lissa.
ReplyDeleteI was re-reading the earlier books recently and was reminded of Lissa's anger when she found out about the other vampire females being restricted by their mates. I'm surprised she hasn't addressed this on Le-Ath Veronis.
It may be addressed, but it may have to wait until an appropriate time :) Just bear with me!
ReplyDeleteConnie
You are getting entirely too good at these little tidbits!! I love them anyway. Having withdrawals from your writing. Come on Shadowed!!
ReplyDeleteAlmost there, Dolly!
DeleteYou are killing me, such a tease...i can not wait for this book. I was so upset with the whole Gabron an Roff thing and then that amazing ending...can i tell u that i read that part over like a million times and im so in love with it. My favorite person of the entire series is back and i get to see him in the Ir'Indicti series...love u...that is so awesome
ReplyDeleteThanks!
DeleteI can not even tell you how much I cried when I read that I knew I just knew it when that one other person comment was made and u would think he was here in my house the way I was crying. Just so u know I was almost to the point of not forgiving for the stake to the chest thing but not only are things there slowly working themselves out but u threw in WW so now I AM A HAPPY CAMPER ONCE AGAIN... LOVED IT and I am spreading the word
ReplyDeleteHi, Ms. Thang Cherise!
ReplyDeleteI am a happy camper, too :) I can't tell you how hard it was to write Blood Queen without WW in it, so I wrote that last scene in Blood Rebellion with a big smile on my face!
Hope your day is a happy one--
Connie
I saw a van today with "Winkler heating and air" on the side and I thought about your books. :-) Can't wait for the next one!
ReplyDeleteThat is so cool!
DeleteI absolutely loved blood rebellion!!!! I was pretty angry with Gabron, but I think he learned a valuable lesson and will change for the better! I have to say that I am still super pissed with Merrill and hope he actually faces some negative consequences for his decisions, right now everything seems to be going his way and he gets to treat lissa like a child Grrrr! Is there going to be more about their m'fiyah in the later books? Or will he at least regret his decision in the future, right now I don't think he seems to really care other than he doesn't have as much control over lissa and shes not Saa thalarr! I really liked merrill at first wich is why iam so pissed at him now!! Ps love that you brought wimpled back!! Also is #9 the last book please say no!
ReplyDeleteThank you! Right now, I currently have 22,000 words written on what may be book 10, but it's told from another perspective. I'll keep everybody updated as things progress. I'm happy Winkler is back, too. It was really hard writing Blood Queen without him :)
DeletePlease give us more snippets from Blood War to tide us over until the publishing date :)
ReplyDeleteI'm working on it!

ReplyDeleteErland has other mates connected to the Saa Thalarr--Joey, Bearcat and Norton. Joey and Norton are healers, and Bearcat is retired Saa Thalarr. No additional mates among the others (so far, anyway) :)
DeleteWasn't sure if i should post this question here or on one of your facebooks... and not quite sure how to word this so stick with me lol... You never really say if any of Lissa's mates besides Karzac have other mates or not... You might have said Erland Morphis did not a 100% on it thou... My question is do any of her other mates have other mates...(lol) and if not do they sleep with other women or are they faithful... (unlike Gabron)...
Deleteany chance of you posting a current list of Lissa's mates up until this point... I can name a couple off the top of my head but the rest i might have to go reread the books to get... lol... I've read most of the books multiple time you think i would remeber... lol
ReplyDeleteList of mates, having just read and re-read Blood Rebellion in the last 72 hours:
DeleteKifirin
Shadow
Drew
Drake
Gavin
Tony
Karzac
Erland
Gardevik Rath
Connegar
Reemagar
Gabron (rejected in Book #7)
Roff (forgets about his mate bond in Book #7)
Winkler will probably be a mate.
Aryn probably has the potential to be a mate, *assuming* he is Gabron re-invented.
Merrill would have been, but he had Griffin destroy his m'fiyah.
Thanks, LMQ!
DeleteHappy Sunday :)
Not that I'm obsessed with your books or anything. Oh no, not me.... ::whistles innocently::
DeleteThat's awesome! Thanks :)
DeleteI just made my own list before seeing this.... lol.... exactly what i came up with too... I always reread all the books before the new one comes out... that way i now for sure exactly whats going on... wouldn't wanna forget any of it... lol... not that i could i love the stories to much... Can't wait for may 1st... 14 days and counting...
ReplyDeleteThanks, casey993. Happy Monday :)
