  6. Its weird Connie on Amazon if you search blood queen your book is the 5th one down, and the only book titled "blood queen"? and they don't like listing it under you as the author?

Well i have to tear into this hearty meal of a book. Thanks!

  7. Dare, every time I submit a new book, it takes days to get that straightened out. I've had to type in my name plus the title to get it to come up, and other people have had problems, too. I don't know why--I'm not tech savvy in any sense to be able to figure this out. I've stopped trying to make any sense of it :) Anyway, I hope you enjoy the book.

  8. I got it, I got it!! I actually did an internal "happy dance" after I purchased it. Couldn't just get up and dance around seeing as how I was at work;) CONGRATS GIRL!!!

  9. Connie, Ilona Andrews is tweeting about your books and posted your website. She says she wants to follow you on twitter. Good idea!!

  10. Holy cow--thanks for the info, Dolly! That is awesome news!

  11. Got it! Thanks, Connie. Just in time, too. I told my boyfriend about them last month when I first discovered you, but he kept reading all the 'single' books until last week. He finished his single and I suggested he start on you, since there were 5 books to keep him occupied and the 6th was coming out this week. Well, he has plowed thru them and is almost finished with #5 - and today he's been holding back so he wouldn't finish before the 6th one was available!!! Thanks for getting it to us early!

  12. Thanks, Mary! So glad you both like the books--that's amazing!

  15. I've been reading for about 2 hours now. Talk about fastening your seat belts, you were NOT kidding. Had to take a break to rest my eyes. Gosh darn it, I want to finish this tonight and I know I won't be able to. Something to look forward to tomorrow.
    Congrats on the great sales!!

  16. Alright - as desperate as I am for the next installment, can we wait a few weeks so that I can catch up on sleep? ;-) Just kidding. I'd take it tomorrow if you would release it! :)

Seriously tho - I love to read. Love to read in this genre. But rarely do I find a character that I resonate with so much. I understand why she goes back to those who have betrayed her...I get why she's affectionate with those who don't deserve it.

Keep up the great work! I've recommended you to many. Read the series 3 times since I found it at the end of October and this last time, I read all 6 books between Monday am and 2am this morning. :)

  17. Thanks, Dolly :) Hope you got a good night's rest!

  18. Wow, Elizabeth--thank you! Blood Rebellion (#7) may be coming your way in March, so you can (I hope) get some sleep :) Right now, I plan to release Bumble in February, and since Winkler is a crossover character, you can always catch up with him then if you want. (Bumble takes place 18 years after the end of Blood Royal)

Thanks for posting--it was great hearing from you!

  19. First off have to say loved it.... Is there any way we could get a list of who is mated to who???

    ReplyDelete
  20. Thanks, Connie, for giving me another almost sleepless night! I stayed up until 3:30 reading this, then got up at 7 to finish! I'm sure I won't be thanking you late this afternoon when my eyes start closing as I try to type at the computer (and my boss wouldn't be thanking you either), but right now I thank you for a good read. I got very confused with all the characters in this one (loved the twins, though), and also wouldn't mind a pseudo-genealogy at the start or end of the book, giving the characters and their relationships. Can't wait for the next one.

  22. Hi, Mary. Sorry for the loss of sleep :(

In addition to the mates listed in my previous post in answer to casey993's question, here's a list of children:

Mack (Martin Walters, Jr.) son of Martin Walters.

Justin Chessman, son of Adam Chessman and Kiarra

Franklin, (twin) son of Merrill and Kiarra
Jeff, (twin) son of Merrill and Kiarra

Drake (twin) son of Dragon and Devin
Drew (twin) son of Dragon and Devin

Dragon Taylor, son of Dragon and Grace

Crane Trevor, son of Crane and Grace

Adam Justin, son of Justin and Grace

Feather, daughter of Mack and Grace

Renegar, son of Pheligar and Kiarra

Graegar, son of Renegar and Grace

Garegar, son of Graegar and Conner

Connegar, son of Barrigar and Conner

Shadow Grey, son of Raffian Grey and Shannon. Note: Shannon is a previously unlisted member of the Saa Thalarr. Raffian Grey is probably the strongest and most powerful Grey House Wizard, and is the son Of Glendes, Eldest of Grey House. Cleo and Kyler are Glendes' daughters, through a different mother (Lissa's sister).

Hope this helps--let me know if I left anyone out :)
    Have a wonderful day--
    Connie

  23. No one is allowed to laugh except WITH me. I was gonna right down all the pairing with their children but since Connie was nice enough to write it down, I printed off to keep with my Kindle. Now laugh.

No, I'm not done yet. I went to bed at 2 am and my dogs, the sweethearts, got me up at 4:15. I knew if I tried to read, I'd nod off. The other 50% will have to wait till tonight after I feed, socialize and put hubby to bed. Can't wait.

  25. Thanks for the lists of who's mated to who and who everybody belongs to parent wise. :D It was starting to get confusing trying to figure out who went with who. :D I have finished Blood Queen three times already!! I was re-reading the whole series so I would be ready for the newest release, but it came out before I could finish it all the way through (Again). :D No complaints from me though! I don't mind reading your new books while I'm still reading the other ones. After reading Blood Queen, a LOT of things were made clear from the previous books and several things made more sense. I'm hoping that whoever helped Lissa gets explained more later. And I was wondering when their eyes were different and why they returned to normal when They smiled??? I keep re-reading that section trying to figure it out when their eyes were different and haven't found it yet. Thanks for everything you do!!!!!!!

    ReplyDelete
  26. Hi, Sarah! The change in the eyes--well, that can be several things, from seeing the future to pronouncing something into being. And the one who helped Lissa is my favorite male haracter in all my books. And, you've only gotten the briefest of glimpses so far. I will write the book sometime soon, when you see Lissa's rescue from his perspective. In fact, my fingers are itching to do that now. I have a visit to the eye doctor planned first--I have a terrible case of eyestrain and probably need to slow down, in addition to requiring a new pair of glasses.

    All my best to you!
    Connie

  27. Awesome! Thanks!!!! Can't wait!! ;~D

  28. Oh....rest those eyes!!! We, your fans, want you to be able to write your books!!!

  30. Connie,

You got me with this one. You should have seen me at work, trying to read and get work done. I was happy and sad at the same time at the end of the book. Happy at the conclusion and sad that there was no more to read. I haven't posted in a while but Blood Queen was just so Awesome I had to. Also don't know if it would be a Spoiler for a future book but still going to ask. Are you going to let Lissa forgive and take back Merrill as one of her M'Fiyahs? I can't blame her but I still love Merrill and would like to see them together.

    ReplyDelete
  31. Hi, Maria :)
I can't answer that question--right now it doesn't have an answer. I'm really glad you liked Blood Queen, though, and Blood Rebellion will probably come your way next March. I know that doesn't help a lot (sorry). Thanks for posting--it was great hearing from you. Hope you have a wonderful weekend!

  32. Great book! I was impressed with the way you designed your transition novel. Most authors I have seen tend to treat this sort of novel as a "fit every unfinished question/plot that I started into it” so that they can continue on in the direction that they are interested in. I like the fact that you kept in elements your readers are accustomed to (that made your books a success), while answering questions that were brought up in previous books. It made for an enjoyable read, while leaving us awaiting your next book. Unfortunately, it will not be released next month. :( You spoiled us with releasing the books every month, now I will be tearing my hair out waiting three months instead of one. ;) Kudos on your success! -Erika, A New Fan

  36. What an excellent review by mistressofthedarkpath. Very comprehensive. Covers all that she enjoys and yet provides insights I hadn't even thought about.
Connie, you are on your way!!!

  37. Thank you, mistressofthedarkpath!
I got a bit misty when I read your review of the Blood Destiny series. When I first published Blood Wager, I imagined that a handful of people might stumble across my books and read them. I never expected anything as wonderful as this, and I can't tell you how much it means to me. Thank you, thank you, thank you!

  39. You are most welcome, Connie. I was excited to tell others and hope I did your series justice in my review. There was so much to cover that it would have been easy to get carried away describing everything I liked. I am sure your readership will continue to grow, as it should!

  41. Connie, are all the mate pairings you listed M'Fiyahs? Or are some just simply convenience because there are not much female Saa Thalarr?

    ReplyDelete
  42. Hi, Maria :)
That's a great question--all are M'Fiyahs, as some of the women would have been very reluctant to become involved with that many males, (especially Kiarra and Grace).

It was wonderful to hear from you--have a great evening!

  43. Hi Connie!

I was just wondering who Erland was mated to since Frank had said that he was mated to some of theirs but you didnt put him on your list? I was also curious if Gavin and Tony would learn that Connegar is Rene.

Have a wonderful day and a happy holiday:)

    ReplyDelete
  44. Hi, DaniM611 :)
You're right--I did say that. Erland is mated to Joey (Merrill's last vampire child), and Joey's mates Bearcat and Norton. If I can ever get Adam and Kiarra's story rewritten, you'll see a lot of Joey. And I'll explain soon about Karathia and its inhabitants. In Blood Domination, I think, I threw in the info that Kifirin placed the planet of Karathia on the boundary between the light and dark realms. That means something to all its people :) Eventually, too, I'll explain that Erland Morphis is more than just a pretty face. He has a dangerous job, and he does it very, very well :)

As far as Gavin and Tony learning about Connegar, Lissa (wisely) decided that it was Connegar's secret to tell. To date, I don't know that Connegar has actually had that conversation :)
Thanks for posting--it was great to hear from you!

  47. Well, I just finished reading all six books again. The world consistency is great. I thought the sex could be toned down a bit more as it really doesn't seem to advance the story much, but overall I really enjoyed the series so far.

    ReplyDelete
  48. Hello, Alfred,
I'm glad you've enjoyed the series so far. As to the sex, well, when I write my books, it is never my intention to offend anyone. I appreciate all of my readers, and feel grateful that you've stuck with the story so far. I will understand completely, however, if you do not wish to continue reading my books.

All my best to you always--

  49. Hi Connie,

Thanks for for the info on Erland. I meant to ask if he and Gardevik also had M'Fiyahs with Lissa since they showed up on her birthday behind the others that do.

    ReplyDelete
  50. Hi, DaniM611!
That answer will come in Blood Rebellion, so I hope you don't mind waiting :D

    Thanks for posting!
    Connie

  51. LOL

I am not offended. I got hooked into this story because of the price and my need to read. My urban fantasy reading list has never really included this kind of writing style before. Based on your response, I am guessing that this is a romance element that your core readers are looking for.

I enjoy the world you have built, and am quite interested in the way you tell the story. Blood Queen certainly expanded the scope. I can't wait to see what you do with it.

    ReplyDelete
  52. Thanks, Alfred :)
I am much relieved. Hope your day is a happy one!

  53. Hi, can you tell me when the next book comes out. And will lissa & Merrill ever hook up?

    ReplyDelete
  54. Hi, lynn,
Blood Rebellion (#7) will be released in March, 2012. I'll keep everybody posted when the exact date is finalized. As far as Merrill and Lissa, that is a question that doesn't have an answer. At least for now :)
Thanks for writing--it was great hearing from you!
    Connie

    ReplyDelete
  55. If it's undecided, can I put in a vote? I don't want Merrill and Lissa to hook up. :) He made his mistake plus there's the whole dad/daughter vibe. I would like to see Lissa heal enough to see his good points and for her relationship with Griffin to be healthy.

With the rules of LeAth Verona (sp, sorry!), can she have trusted advisors that she is not mated to? This is a question about policy, not a story hint. :)

    ReplyDelete
  56. BTW - loved the Larentii sex post on RabidReads. It was GREAT!

    ReplyDelete
  57. Thanks, Elizabeth :)
I'm glad you liked the RabidReads guest post! As far as whether Lissa will have any trusted advisors that aren't her mates, well, hold that thought. At least one will come along :)
Thanks for posting, and have a wonderful day!

  58. Connie,
I am enjoying this series. I was a little confused at first with this last addition, but it all came together and I had a light bulb moment where several things from previous books came together. Well played!
Looking forward to the next one!

    ReplyDelete
  59. Connie,
After reading the last book in the series I decided I needed to read through them again to see if I missed anything. I have to say I am impressed with your foreshadowing. Many authors give things away too easily but it took me knowing what happens in Blood Queen to understand some of the things you foreshadowed. I love this series and I can't wait till the next book comes out!

  60. I was wondering what was inscribed on the ring Kifirin gave to Lissa.... Or do we find it out in a later book....

  61. Thanks, Ariel!
Right now I am writing (or rewriting) Adam and Kiarra's story, and editing Blood Rebellion and Bumble. If anything is ready for an earlier release, you'll read about it here first!
Happy New Year and thanks for posting!

  63. Connie,

Just wanted to say, OMG GOAL!!!! Another great read. I am so looking forward to the next one. Would love to see all the lists in the front of the book just to help keep things in order. I had to go back and re-read all the books, before I read it just so I remembered everything. I was wondering if Lissa is ever going to have kids of her own? It seems like it might just be possible, as has happened with Adam and Kiarra and Merrill and Kiarra. If so can she have a girl, with Gavin, man that baby would be beautiful. Thanks once more, your books are fantastic.

    ReplyDelete
  64. Also did you have any authors you would recommend who write in the same style you do?

    ReplyDelete
  65. Hi Connie,

    Happy New year.
I have read and listened to your books over and over again. I don't think I have ever read a series so many times.
I just adore Lissa. She is stong and vulnerable at the same time. She is very easy to relate to.
I do have a couple of questions. I am very curious about the Larentii.
    1. Will we find out why Lissa holds the Larentii race with so much reverence? (Even she doesn't seem to understand it.)
    2. Are there any female Larentii? I would love to see Lissa and Connegar have a daughter.

    ReplyDelete
  66. Thanks, MickyBFergus!
I can't answer the question about children--that may involve spoilers :) And I may put lists and a glossary together to insert as front matter in Blood Rebellion. As far as other authors who write in my style--I don't know of any, but there may be some. I do have many favorite authors, and they include many styles and genres. Most of those are listed on my Goodreads site. If you can't get to that list, let me know and I'll try to put a list together for you :)
Happy New Year and thanks for writing!
    Connie

    ReplyDelete
  67. Hi, Mari!
I'm so glad you enjoy the books--that is awesome! As to female Larentii, well, there are a few. There used to be more and the reason there are only a few now is wrapped up in a very lengthy tale. It has something to do with Larentii being able to decide which gender they'll choose before the age of fifty, a very angry Ferrigar (Head of the Larentii Council) and a rather disobedient daughter who flaunted his wishes and married the founding member of the Grey House Wizards instead. As I said, it's a long story :)

As for why Lissa is fascinated by the Larentii race, I hope that question is answered a little in Blood Rebellion.

Happy New Year, and thanks for posting!

  68. Ilona Andrews has my thanks and the blame for my late nights recently. Her recommendation sent me to searching for Blood Wager. 70. Hi Connie

I love your books and considering the amount of times I have read them all I probably shouldn't have to ask the next questions but :
Why was Radomir so upset when Lissa died as he didn't seem to have had any more contact with her than any of the others? and does Merrill now wish he hadn't destroyed the M'fiyah because he has feelings for her (beyond that of her surrogate sire)I can't wait for the next book. Thanks for great read.

    ReplyDelete
  71. Hi, Linda!
Radomir had a slight attraction to Lissa (and her red hair). She also managed to reach something inside him that might have sunk into oblivion otherwise. In Blood Queen, we see he did end up with red-haired Devin :) Merrill regrets his decision, realizing that he should have thought it out better, but he was so obsessed with Kiarra after seeing her the first time, he willingly threw everything else away. He likely knows now that he should have stood beside Lissa and helped rule Le-Ath Veronis as a King Vampire. More on that later, in upcoming books!

Thanks for writing--it was wonderful to hear from you!
